The Wine Walk 2026

About

THE EXPERIENCE
On 27 June ’26, rounding off English Wine Week, an intrepid crew will take on a 15-mile fundraising trek through the Surrey Hills for Guildford Philanthropy, visiting four venues of the seven stunning Vineyards of the Surrey Hills (VoSH) as well as two local favourite pubs.

THE IMPACT
This walk is about more than celebrating our local businesses and the beautiful landscape. We’re raising funds for Guildford Philanthropy, supporting charities and community groups across the borough. Every pound raised will go directly to projects that make a real difference to people in need within our community.

SUPPORT THE WALK
Our commmunity is strongest when we come together.  You can make a donation on this page and we are grateful for whatever you are able to give.  Every contribution, large or small, has a lasting impact on those who need it most and helps strengthen our local community.

OR JOIN THE WALK
As this is a fundraising event, we ask each participant to commit to raising a minumum of £500.  This helps ensure the walk delivers genuine impact for the programmes we support and we are grateful to everyone who joins us with this shared goal.  Places are limited, and we hope to fill them with those ready to embrace both the experience and the fundraising challenge. Just click the "Join team" button on this page to register. If you're joining as a group, each member registers individually and everything raised contributes to the overall Wine Walk total. (You can preview the registration process here.)

THE ROUTE
Our route this year runs from Greyfriars to Tanhurst Estate via Chilworth and Albury, following the North Downs Way and the Pilgrim’s Way, before conquering Holmbury Hill. Along the way, we’ll pause to rehydrate and sample exceptional English sparkling wines, showcasing the very best of the Surrey Hills.

We will also stop at the splendid William IV and the Hurtwoord Inn.  A hike through the hills is never complete without a visit to the pub!

While the equally fabulous High Clandon, Denbies and Soloms Court vineywards are not on the route this year, you are always welcome to enjoy the wines at your leisure at any of the VoSH any day!

IN MEMORY
This year, we also walk in memory of Pat Grayburn MBE DL, founder of the Guildford Book Festival and an inspiring force in Surrey’s creative community.
